🚀 “PScience Day 2025: Where Curiosity Meets Creativity”

13. Juni 2025

How exciting, creative, and socially relevant psychological research can be was once again on display at this year’s PScience Day at the Department of Psychology. On June 13, the SOWi foyer was transformed into a lively marketplace of ideas, where students presented their research projects to an engaged audience for the third time.

🧠 From neuropsychology to sustainability research, from child development to artificial intelligence—the spectrum was broad. The aim of the initiative is to foster scientific exchange among students and give them a platform to showcase their projects. Not only completed work was presented: research ideas and ongoing projects were also welcome, offering visitors an authentic glimpse into the vibrant world of psychological research—and giving students the chance to connect and network.

🎤 A colorful day of science – from keynote to science slam

The day was opened by Prof. Dr. Ulrike Basten (RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau), whose inspiring keynote addressed individual differences in emotion regulation and their impact on well-being.

📊 Afterwards, 26 students presented their work in poster sessions, covering topics such as emotion regulation, stress-related cognitive changes, lie detection, mental health, and early childhood development.

⚡ In 12 lightning talks, visitors got compact insights into diverse projects, such as:

  • 🧘‍♀️ How does mindfulness influence neurophysiological processes?

  • 🌱 What role do emotions play in sustainable decision-making?

  • 🎓 What interventions can support students with ADHD?

The day ended on a creative and entertaining note: at the Science Slams, students presented topics like self-determination, reward processing, or age-related changes in sleep with humor and imagination—leaving the audience both laughing and inspired. 🎭👏
