The Affective Neuroscience Lab travelled to Bordeaux for this year's Annual Meeting of the Organization for Human Brain Mapping — Carmen, Gaia, Sofia and Stella represented the group across eight contributions.

The programme covered much of what the lab is currently working on: the neural signatures of state and trait emotion regulation in large-scale and consortium samples, emotion regulation as a buffer against stress, social support as a regulation strategy, hormonal influences on regulation networks across oral contraceptive discontinuation and the menopausal transition, effective connectivity in women survivors of intimate partner violence, and a cross-diagnostic meta-analysis of emotion processing. Several of these were joint efforts with our collaborators in Jülich, Tübingen and Granada.

Beyond our own sessions, it was a genuinely inspiring meeting — excellent talks, a great deal of catching up with colleagues and long-standing friends, and a beautiful, charming host city that we thoroughly enjoyed, despite temperatures that made the poster halls feel very warm indeed.
